This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

Old Mill Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified instructional tutor to provide reading, writing, and math interventions to our struggling students. The successful candidate must be:

  • Knowledgeable of KY Academic Standards in all content areas at all grade levels, K-5
  • Knowledgeable of and able to implement best instructional practices used at Old Mill
  • Able to partner with the instructional coach, certified classroom teachers, a second instructional tutor, and other classified instructional assistants in a collaborative setting to support the learning of struggling students
  • Self-initiating
  • Able to instruct and work independently without direct supervision

The positions is 6 hours per day and 170 instructional days, 4 holidays, 7 planning days and 2 extended days for at total of 183 days per year.  Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date. (Considered full time with benefits - see below)

  • Must have 64 college credit hours and a 2.5 GPA and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

 

Salary based on the Board Approved Salary Schedule for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE:  It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

 

Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by the number of reamining paychecks.  This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule.  4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.

Personal Leave not used in school year rolls over to sick leave

Earn 2 more sick days if you do not use any sick leave during school year
