This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

Pleasant Grove Elementary is looking for a caring, positive, energetic candidate that will assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to individuals and small groups; as well as monitor student progress.

 

Assistant will be responsible for helping the K teachers with class instruction and other duties such as working with small groups of children to reinforce lessons, providing one-on-one instruction to students and supervising students in the classroom. Applicant must be a positive, compassionate individual who is passionate about working with young children.

-Oranized in order to ensure proper monitoring and reporting of student progress.

The position is 6.75 hours per day and 170 instructional days, 4 holidays, 7 planning days and 2 extended days for at total of 183 days per year. Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.

 

• Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam.  Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

 

Salary based on the Board Approved Salary Schedule for the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE:  It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

 

Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by the number of reamining paychecks.  This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule.  4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
