Description

This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

Candidate will provide assistance for students with special needs particularly students with learning behavior disabilities.  Candidate will need to be able to attend training for the position.  Candidate must meet all qualifications necessary to be hired for the position as instructional assistant.

This position is 6.5 hours per day and 183 days per year

170 student instructional days, 4 paid holidays, 7 planning days and 2 extended days

Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.  

(Considered full time with benefits - see below)

  

  • Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam.  Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

  

Step 0: $15.59 per hour

Step 10: $19.19 per hour

 

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE:  It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

 

Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks.  This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule.  4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
