Bullitt County Public Schools is always looking for qualified Substitute Teachers.
The minimum qualifications (in order to be Emergency Substitute Certified) are below.
Emergency Certified Guest Teachers/Substitute Teachers
The successful candidate must have earned a minimum of a high school diploma or GED in order to be Emergency Sub Certified.
The Emergency Substitute Certification is issued for 1 year, requires a district application process, and is limited to the specific district.
There is no cost for the Emergency Substitute Certificate.
Regular Certified Guest Teachers/Substitute Teachers
- Candidates holding a BA/BS can apply for the 5 year Substitute Teaching Certificate with the KY Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB). The cost is $15.00.
-Candiates holding a teaching certificate can apply for the 10 year Substitute Teaching Certificate with EPSB. The cost is $15.00.

Steps to follow to become a substitute teacher:
- Complete the online application.
- Contact Becky Brogan at 502-869-8000 (email: Becky.Brogan@bullitt.kyschools.us) to set up an Interview with the Director of Human Resources, Dr. Althea Hurt.
- If hired, you will be required to have a FBI Records Check ($53.25 Fee) and Child Abuse Records Check ($10)
- You will be required to take an online Safe Schools Training as a condition of employment.
